Pros

Very competitive pay and benefits. Onsite amenities (cafeterias, fitness center, health clinic, tennis court, ball field, soccer field, walking trails) are fantastic (they have an onsite Chick Fil A and Starbucks). Challenging work and very open to new ideas. Decent access to Sr Management. Very large focus on development. Excellent place to learn and push yourself. Great opportunities to create.

Cons

Very political. Thay talk alot about diversity as long as you fit their model of thought. Starting to get more bureacratic as they transform into a major Bank. They still haven't figured out how to manage costs proactively yet (see above).

Pros

The best reasons to work for Capital One would be the benefits package offered to full and part time. The benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, and 401k. Capital One also has a tuition reimbursement plan for full time and part time staff. The starting salary of an entry level teller compared to other banks is higher and there are incentive plans for tellers as well. The attitude of the workplace and staff is easy going and because, I think, Capital One as a bank is still fairly new, it has a small town bank feel and a slower pace associated with it.

Cons

Due to the current economic situation, there is little upward mobility and not many new branches being opened at this time (2nd Qtr. 2009). Because of this, there are not many positions opened at this time for entry level or upper level positions. There are little to no full time teller positions available at branches and part time is usually about 30 hours. And due to the scheduling of bank hours, this usually means that a person probably could not pick up a second job.
