Pros

- low cognitive load, don't have to think much at all - lot of time to do self-learning and explore new technologies - don't have to meaningfully contribute

Cons

Where do I start, I worked there for 4 years left briefly, and returned just to get PIP'd after 6 months on the team. The reasons given of course were things like "doesn't understand the stack" despite having worked on several teams and high performing over the years. The middle management ranges from great to absolutely vile. Overall I'd say the cons are: - abuse of buzzwords, onboarding to new technology with no vision in mind - work is mindless. Lots of show and tell with little to no actual feature building - constantly bogged down by crappy CI/CD - entirety of work is switching yaml values around, over 4 years I wrote less code for capital one than i wrote in 1 month at my new job - absurd expectations for visibility. How can you even be visible when 99% of the work is maintenance work? And finally, the pay is garbage. I have seen the company through the years and it used to be an awesome place to work. Initially when I joined the employees were treated extremely well, and there was an actual family culture. Over time it has withered away and c1 is a shell of what it used to be
