Pros

Nice Building PTO Some talented, highly skilled, experienced technical employees Team members willing to help when needed Cafe in building is decent

Cons

If you are not from India, promotions and job security is unlikely. Bonus cut by more than 50% from last year, even though we were the Number 1 business unit company-wide. Pay is below average for most roles Slowly cutting onshore staff and replacing with lower paid, less experienced, lower skilled workers. Trizetto was acquired by Cognizant 3 years ago. Since that time, teams have been decimated onshore and many jobs have moved offshore. Many decent people placed on the bench last year and replaced with offshore resources or offshore employees being brought over to replace onshore resources. Teams are not fully staffed leading to delays when responding to customer needs. CIS cares only about bringing over less experienced and skilled workers on visa programs. Promotions are about if you are from India. Experience, skills, not taken into consideration. During a recent "Townhall Meeting", SR. Management bragged about the diversity in the organization on one slide, then one the next slide showed the "new management" structure. This was dominated by 16 Indian males, 3 white males, and one Indian female. Promotions are yearly. They have no problem giving you more responsibility without actually promoting for several months, sometimes up to a year, then pulling your promotion when the time comes. HR is a joke in Englewood. Known throughout the building as spineless and worthless. Make a legitimate complaint or question anything that was done and be prepared to suffer the consequences, most likely benching. There are some very good managers in middle management roles who try to be fair but are forced to make bad decisions by SR Management. PTO is "unlimited" but depending on the customer you are working on, you can expect 60-80 hours a week and less than 1 week off. Recognition and awards are dominated by offshore or onshore Indian employees. Published lists of awards are sent out quarterly, with 90% being offshore or Indian. Favoritism is also rampant. Indian Managers look out for Indian employees, especially those they know and favor. They have little to no respect for onshore employees and have no problem making that clear. Overall, if you want a fair, balanced company that truly cares about employees this is not the place to work.

Pros

Huge company , looks great on your resume , they give you a card with $20 every week for free food out of the vending machines

Cons

Management has no control over anything what-so-ever . They have hired everyone there around the same time because the project is brand new , so all the upper management have absolutely no idea what they are talking about when it comes to policy , theyre not required to view content yet they will look down upon anyone who doesnt meet their OUTRAGEOUS metrics . Because the client is a HUGE company , they kiss butt at every turn to make sure that they dont lose the contract , which i understand but when you come in one day and fire 60 people on a whim with no warning , you obviously dont care about your employees very much . You are expected to maintain a 98% accuracy although they are bringing in auditors with less experience than the people they are auditing and the material they have to reference is almost completely subjective . Not to mention there is no good way of repealing the decisions on audits without taking up 3 weeks of time . The way they have everything set up is a nightmare . All decisions are made by the sister site in phoenix and even if the decisions dont make sense we still have to follow everything they say because the client wants us to be aligned . Its very easy to get chewed up and spit out here . If you have no interest in technology or the internet its not for you , it requires popculture knowlege as well as knowlege on internet trends and memes , even current events . I would say this job is great for someone who doesnt mind kissing some butt and who possibly has a degree that can do some good for the project , maybe communications or even something to do with policy building , HR , SOMETHING . They need some serious help but what theyre doing is very important , and it could be a great job if the client would actually look around and see what is really going on .

Pros

There are some very hard working people willing to go to whatever length is necessary to ensure team success

Cons

Upper leadership is deceiving (not all, there are some good people here including the chief executive however nothing is done to eliminate the poor management), especially to get you in the door, and once in be aware that higher promotions are much more politically based than other companies. Value of employees is judged by higher management using metrics that often times the employees have no ability to influence over and don't even consult the employee's supervisor (example, if you don't write the contract or have any say in it how can you be responsible for it not having good enough margins or utilization?)
