Pros

I have only been a part of the organization a little while and have yet to see any pros.

Cons

Toxic Culture driven by a top down I’m know more than you attitude. Which makes it obvious that it is also very Top Heavy with a comically unjustified ineptitude towards aligning on new initiatives. Need to take our own advice and implement digital transformation internally. The silos are huge and unwarranted. On boarding you are left to fend for yourself, any questions you are made to open a ticket with IT for. Counter intuitive process which heavily weighs down the streamlining of anything.

Pros

- Some Great colleagues - Low entry barriers (which can also be a con)

Cons

-Everything else I have been working for the company on mid-managment level for a few years. Sadly I have the say that the only thing that Cognizant ripps off and exploits worse than its employees are its clients! As an employee you will be asked to deliver more and more while receiving below average salary with 0 benefits (no pension, no paid sick leave, no health insurance) Everything on the inside of the company is utterly dysfunctional. Interaction with HR is almost impossible and if it is, it goes nowhere, Important documents are not prepared and delivered. Any changes like internal promotions or salary increases take ages and ages to process... It is possible to be promoted and gain experience but you will continue feel stuck and frustrated in a dysfunctional and unrewarding environment. I strongly recommend to start/continue your career with a "real" company. Don't waste your time here!

Pros

You get a computer and mobile phone, although they will be hand-me-downs as they will not allow people leaving to purchase their laptops and will redeploy hardware were possible. You will be using a second hand Macbook Pro 15". At the time, they gave a paid day off on your birthday, a legacy from the Odecee days but I don't think it will last much longer as it sets a precedent for the rest of the global operations.

Cons

You will get no tools to do your job. USB-C dongles are next to impossible to acquire, It took me a year to get an IntelliJ License. A lot of lunchtime back to base tech presentations get canceled, but when they do run, you get very average sandwiches that you would never purchase yourself and hence not worth giving up a lunch break for. No career path. You will see all your new friends leave for better jobs. Pay is nothing special. You will not be valued as an individual, you are just a commodity.
