Pros

It was a great opportunity to work on a project for and with a different company, which hired a team of specialists and consultants via Cognizant Private healthcare included in benefits as standard

Cons

The biggest con was being employed by Cognizant rather than the client. This made communication additionally difficult, and I never felt like I belonged to either organisation. Cognizant makes no effort with its employees. For example, while there are training opportunities available, its all a tick-box excersize and noone really cares about your development or career progression. You're nothing more but a number to the senior managers. This was reflected in the messy experience that was the redundancy process. With HR in India, which did not fully read up on the UK Law, it ended up being many weeks of chasing details that shouldn't be chased, miscommunication, and being ghosted. All of that instead of actual consultations and finding us a new role within the company before the redundancy process was finished. Finally, the internal systems and sites are god-awful, it's incredibly difficult to find and do anything. It's pretty shocking for a company that's apparently so strong in the IT sector...

Deceptive hiring

Pros

Great sales people to work with.

Cons

The position I was hired for did not even come close to what was on my resume. Management bullied me for a year and a half before I reported it. My skill set was completely disregarded. I am an analyst not a work order writer.

Pros

- There are a handful of people at the company who do genuinely care about your growth/development. - Free Udemy access - Good insurance and benefits - Pay is okay

Cons

Oh boy, where to start. I was hired all the way back in Jan 2022, moved all the way to Dallas for the position and did not get any work, at all. After training ended in March, every month since then has been at home, without anything to regarding employement at ALL. I had no idea who I was reporting to, I had no idea what my responsibilities were, and I was not recieving any communication from anybody. While existing and getting paid for it is pretty nice, its soul crushing to be apart of a company that genuinely has no idea you exist. I had to hound and harass management to get me on SOME sort of project, and eventually got onto a project as a developer where the same exact thing proceeded to happen. They had absolutely no idea what to do with me or remember I exist. If you can find other things to do to bide your time, maybe you'll find some enjoyment here, but this ain't it chief.
