Pros

-Good pay: The wage they're willing to pay you is near the top of the market. -At the moment, they are also directly hiring you as a senior level technician, after completing 1 year as a contractor. -Job security: because of Boeing, most likely, Collins Aerospace or formerly Rockwell Collins aren't going anywhere.

Cons

-Alot of paperwork. Although you can say that this is what the company is asking of you to do and that you are being compensated for it, the amount of paperwork they are requiring you to do is NOT in the job description. However, not a deal breaker. -Management likes to pretend to be interested in the opinions of the technicians, like to tell them that the techs know the equipment best, but then turn around and appear to disregard any input. -Lots of micromanagement. Some deserving (to be fair), and others make you feel like a child having your hand held. -Although you can certainly make a career as a tech, and be comfortable with the wage, there is very little room for growth at the service centers.

Pros

Good pay Good people below Director in non-HR

Cons

Things have changed from ARINC days. Now policies are applied differently depending on who you know. HR has voluminous policies, lots that are conflicting with others. Director and above might as well not have a travel policy, they do what they want, spend what they want, buy things for their families, fake receipts, etc. Three of us told Ethics and the Expense team and we were ignored. HR will ignore most everything that isn’t sex harassment. Emails and calls to “help” lines are never answered. The Annapolis office is a sausage fest. Men are treated better unless they try to stand up for women. Tons of change in the last year that was terribly handled.

You’re just a number

Pros

It’s great when it’s great. You will fell special when you first start, they may even give you bonuses and encourage growth and provide guidance and mentors. For a brief time, you’ll feel the work you do has a positive impact and you’re making a difference

Cons

You’re a number, no matter what labor grade or position. If eliminating your position results in shareholder value they will do it. Been with the company for 15 years? Great, you’re laid off because you’re paid too much and it’s easier to just let you go and make the people who worked for your pick up your responsibilities with no increase in pay and/or title. They do not care about you, never get comfortable and since COVID layoffs every single year.
