Pros

The work/life balance is great. The products are very fascinating and will keep you learning daily.

Cons

Limited in vertical movement and salary increases once you join. A good amount of politics because it is a larger company. Training is pretty much non-existent. IT is probably the worst I've ever worked with.

Pros

They make some of the most innovated products in Aerospace, Space, and Defense.

Cons

1. No work life balance. 2. Schedule over Quality, constantly waiving or deviating processes for the sake of schedule vs trying to understand why we got off schedule in the first place. 3. Leaders are not knowledgeable. 4. Program Managers are disrespectful and get away with a lot of borderline unethical behavior. 5. You are rewarded more for bad behavior and condemned for doing the right thing. 6. No stability in leadership or processes; it seems like every two years there's a new leader. That leader now comes up with the "next new thing" and we haven't finished or in-process of the previous leaders "next new thing". Change is inevitable, but there needs to be some stability. This also includes the constant changes in BU and Company names. In the 10+ years I've worked for Collins the company name has changed 3 times and our BU changed names 5 times. 7. Leadership doesn't understand how to support in career development when asked.

Pros

There are great people to work with and customers to support. Building some of the solutions that save lives and the planet is an experience that is amazing.

Cons

There is an issue in communication between high level leadership (C-Suite or E band) and those with individual contributors assigned to them (Level 5's or M band). There are many leaders who cannot hear issues, and others that ask people to stop raising issues even while those issues persist. It may not be pervasive, though where it exists it does not appear localized to individual managers, it includes heads of departments, and their direct leadership.
