All the Call Center horror stories rolled into one
Pros
Super easy to get hired, they practically beg you to accept the job. Some excellent coworkers.
Cons
They always remind you that "By law we only have to give you 10 minutes breaks, but we are so nice we give you 15" then tell you any emergency bathroom breaks must come out of your break time, other wise you will be "disciplined for stealing time from the company". Their words not mine. Working here you will hear this about every other day. Management is VERY condescending to the agents, will talk down and even ridicule some for asking questions during their calls. Forget your ID badge one day? You will be sat down and chastised for "Not following their direction". Someone in my training class learned at break of a sudden death in the family, but not was allowed to leave, but was taken to the Operations Managers office, who then questioned this employee, who was visually shaken from the dire news, on "how close were you to this person, what is their relationship to you, essentially needing permission to be with family. A tiny tiny breakroom with a vending machine that "does not give change for cash purchases. The workstations and equipment are filthy. Hair, fingernail clippings and grime on everything, including the mouse, keyboard, and headset you have to use. Much more ran like a high school, that a place of business. VERY low pay, much lower than the industry average. Insurance that is more expensive then getting insurance outright.
