I have never had such a poor and damaging experience
Pros
The office is easy to get to, smart, and comfortable. The people (except for one individual) are friendly and a pleasure to work with.
Cons
My experience at DB Schenker was incredibly poor. For such a big, global company, the induction was pathetic; reading a load of PDFs and taking some tests relating to that information is not what I would have expected. My biggest grievance was my line 'manager', this individual was a bully and made my short time at DB Schenker unbearable. Within three months of joining I handed in my resignation for the benefit of my health, and without another job lined up, this put me in an uncomfortable situation. In a matter of weeks in starting with the company, I reported my line manager to HR and the situation never improved. While help was offered, not enough was done, or my case taken seriously enough; I got the impression I was the one that had to adjust, and not the bully. My situation however was not unique and there has been a history of poor behavior by the individual, but the company continue to turn a blind eye and since my resignation, I don't believe anything has changed. Appalling. Considering I was told by a senior member of staff that even the guy that provides management training said this person should not be a manager, speaks volumes. DB Schenker needs to be thankful that employment law does not support employees employed for less than two years, otherwise I would most definitely have sought legal advice and taken them to court to compensate for my loss of earnings.
