Amazing profitability, questionable practices, union vs. management

Pros

Expense account, salary, good benefits, travel for training, bonuses, ongoing formal personal development, great training management, easy to get approval for personal time, willing to pay for personal development courses/programs.

Cons

Repetitive, no lunches or breaks, increasing responsibilities due to downsizing. The company is growing their international business and brought on many people to do so, but is getting rid of them to lean out. Union is frustrated with the fact that they left other jobs to come back to DHL, only to get occasional work. Management has to do more and more each day.

very 'German' environment many older employees who don't care much about updating their skills but still get promoted because of 'seniority'
