Pros

- Salary is reasonable though still needs improvements - health care and pension included in the salary - access to vendor learning material

Cons

Since the acquisition by EMC acquisitions for the storage teams: - increase in micro-management and administrative tasks, rather than being left to get on with the job you now have to account for everything that you do within a day - management doesn't have foresight into whats happening in the current business climate, the current strategy is an all in or nothing approach - management doesn't have a plan for internal promotions (note this is an ongoing issue for the last 10+ years) when asked about inter-team promotions or salary increases the comment business requirement always comes up with no comment on what that business requirement is or what certifications plans are required for which grade - inter team-work has become nonexistent - value add in assisting in business projects has become nonexistent

Pros

Good benefits Ok salary A lot of positions have been made fully remote

Cons

The overall focus on internal statistics in tech support is overwhelming and distracting. It causes techs and engineers to waste time playing the stats instead of getting to do their job or upskill. Although, anyone who becomes skilled above average in a technical position will probably leave sooner rather than later, as there is too much company politics in the way of progression.
