Pros

- Great learning opportunities - Great place to build experience and skillset - Great opportunities to interact with senior executives at various clients - Decent pay - Bright people - Great opportunity to build your network

Cons

- The primary downside of working for Deloitte is if you are not a US citizen or permanent resident, then you can forget about getting a green card through Deloitte. The immigration policy is incredibly restrictive even when competitors like PWC and Accenture are filing Green Cards in EB2 category, Deloitte only files in EB3 category. For anybody familiar with the process, this results in waiting times of well over a decade before one is anywhere close to getting a green card. As a result, as soon as employees figure out that there is no future potential for growth or getting permanent resident status when working for Deloitte, they elect to leave and join any number of other companies or competitors who are willing to file green cards in the EB2 category.

Pros

* Encouragement of utilizing PTO * Benefits * Financial support of certain IT Certs

Cons

* Extreme micromanagement from managers * Coaches can drop you at any point for no reason at all * Performance reviews must be done quarterly and heavily rely on if your manager likes you or not. If they give you negative reviews, you can get fired depending on if your project- based * Extreme favoritism * Long hour work week (longer than 40 hours) * No clear training in projects so you are expected to learn magically by yourself * Compensation is not competitive enough and definitely DOES NOT match the market * Horrible, terrible work environment that causes anxiety

Pros

Deloitte pays bonuses, but read below for the catch.

Cons

Deloitte taxes your bonus, but if you leave before the agreed-upon time, they won't help you get your taxes back. Let's use round numbers as an example. If you received a $5000 bonus in 2013, taxes were withheld on that bonus in the year they were paid. If you leave the firm in 2014, and your agreement requires you to repay your bonus, Deloitte will neither reflect the repayment in your 2014 W-2, nor will they issue a corrected 2013 W-2 to reflect your lesser compensation. Again keeping with round numbers, if you get a $5000 bonus in 2013, and then in 2014 you earn $50,000 but leave the firm and pay back that $5,000 bonus...at the end of the year your W-2 will say you earned $50,000, not $45,000. Deloitte will file a W-2c to recover for themselves the additional social security and medicare taxes that THEY paid on your $5000 bonus, but they will file no such paperwork in order to help you out. Just beware: median stay at Deloitte is around 12 months. Most people who get bonuses end up having to pay at least some of it back. And the people who pay it back get no help from Deloitte in recovering the extra taxes paid on their bonus. They'll help themselves, but they won't help you.
