Pros

Lot of industries You can meet interesting contacts You are exposed to top managers of to companies Knowledge of your colleges.

Cons

No live - work balance at all Salaries do not reflect your work The only way to excel is by burn you out. Any stage between senior and manager is worthless. When you are assistant you are lerning a lot and when you are partner you are earning a lot. Other stages wont pay good, and wont learn as much as you should.

Pros

Deloitte's name reconciliation and the people that you work with are the best reasons to work in Deloitte Consulting. Deloitte will provide the ability to work with some very smart people and to meet some dynamic people that you would otherwise not have met. The benefits are excellent, the pay is average. If you are good at networking and not afraid to talk with others and build a network you will go far. If you love to travel and get status this is the place for you, I earned 1k status on United in less than six months.

Cons

The Green Dot. This really means that your whole life becomes Deloitte. If you are an experienced hire and not one of the BTA's right out of school this will be the biggest challenge at Deloitte. Everything takes second to the Green Dot. You will be spending weekends, long nights and traveling Sunday through Friday for the firm. Families become second if you want to move up in the firm. The firm will do very little in the way of assisting you with a work life balance. The most successful people at Deloitte have incorporated their families into their work life or somehow have the ability to have two lives. They will talk up 3-4-5 as their way of balancing out work/life. It is almost never followed as the client will always have a need and this is the first to go. The mid year and year end process is political and the best way to combat this is your network. You have to get your name out and work with others so that when this process comes around you are not debated. Having a strong counselor is also important. If the one you are assigned is not a mover and a shaker try to get it changed to one that is. Otherwise you could be a super star and it will not get noticed.

Varied work ex consisting of different types of projects, collegial culture at the workplace, company policy is accommodating for women

Cons

Low pay especially at the entry level, level of projects sometimes undertaken is quite low, practice areas are very office focussed.
