      Pros

      Great benefits Opportunities for growth and advancement Well-known organization - name carries clout

      Cons

      Management is very focused on business development and the bottom-line. They are willing to overlook behaviors that they shouldn't - simply for profit. There is a lot of conversation around "listening" to staff and "supporting" staff, but when it comes down to it, none of that has come through, at least for me. Change is slow to happen, though the intention is there.

      Pros

      This job was a great way to be exposed to the intense training system that the big four incorporate. A lot of the training is unnecessary and should be replaced with more worthwhile trainiing, but it shows you that the company is trying to really train and develop its employees.

      Cons

      Because of the recession, Deloitte was the top accounting firm to cut jobs immediately instead of looking for other options. Therefore, I would have to say as a first year, this was not the "best place to launch my career."
