      Intestesting place to park yourself for a couple of years.

      Pros

      Deloitte has a solid brand name that can be leveraged toward opportunities internationally. The work environment is collaborative where the majority of the staff also work hard. For those with the right background and a willingness to network, the opportunities are boundless. The compensation at the lower levels is mediocre at best, especially when considering the hours of work that are demanded. Compensation improves as you move up, with Partners doing well, especially given their limited skill set and brain power. Deloitte will improve one's ability to present and sell without any true substance to back it up. Intestesting place to park yourself for a couple of years.

      Cons

      Quite honestly, the work is not especially stimulating. What's so interesting about accounting? The Partners tend to thing of themselves as Gods who's word has to be obeyed by lower level staff. But, most do not have very impressive resumes: graduates of second/third rate schools, no experience with world class companies outside of the Big 4, closeminded individuals without a true world prospective. They are lucky to be making what they do. Much smarter and hard working individuals outside of the Big 4 make far less. Regulation (audits, tax returns, etc.) give them a good thing. Most couldn't make it in Investment Banking or Strategy Consulting...not smart enough.

      You can get good experience in client management at Deloitte. The management is decent.

      Cons

      Too much travel can hinder work-life balance.
