Pros

The people are generally nice to work with and work life balance for the most part is really good. Most of the Center Management is good.

Cons

The Total Compensation (TC) speech you get when you join is a true load of BS, especially now that the largest part of that TC component is the bonus and that was cut last year and is well below the discussed TC was 3 years ago when there was a salary assessment and promises were made. The bonus is not really in the plans any longer for IT. New management is of the opinion if you are just a cost center then you should not get a bonus. Those in Germany are lucky as they are protected by the German Workers Council and get the bonus they we promised in the TC discussions. Some Directors on site have no clue and generally don't care as long as they don't have to really do anything or talk to you, then everything is just fine. Dealing with some of the Managing Directors around the company is like dealing with spoiled children. They don't really care either, only care about their bonus and stay out of their way.

Pros

vacation, other benefits and mostly good people.

Cons

Where to start! There is a reason that DB is always in the news and that’s because risk, audit, legal and compliance departments have sub-par employees. Legal won’t make a decision on anything and always has to go to outside counsel for something that the in-house counsel should know Management in Germany and London don’t care about US regulations. You can literally tell management that you will have a regulatory problem yet they ignore any pleas for help. No ownership at the senior level! No one can make a decision so nothing gets done which results in those that want to see progress give up eventually and leave.
