Pros

The people, on an individual level are good. The benefits package meets or exceeds everything in the area (especially on vacation / sick policy). Work from home allowance seems flexible, but appears to be at the discretion of your direct manager.

Cons

I was hired under the impression that this was a "Google like" dev workshop, but every time we have a visitor from New York or London, we have to put on suits and ties to pander to our overlords. This center has zero autonomy, and no control over the products we are "in charge" of delivering.

Pros

The new facilities are quite nice and becoming increasingly spacious as people leave. 401k is ok compared to working for the government - though "real" technology companies are better. Very slow pace may suit many. Easy to hide if you are lazy.

Cons

Constant state of flux: Several high-profile departures this year leaving a vacuum for indecision and power broking. No support for the center in wider DB - we are the butt of all jokes from our uk counterparts such as "Cary Cracker Jar", "Cary Creche", "Cary Asylum", "Pulled pork-heads", "DB-Rednecks". This might be funny to you but we live here No clear strategy - we answer to the newest whip in town. The new whip is in Jacksonville so I guess this is where our jobs are going. Low grade senior management team and dishonest/incompetent HR dept. Town halls are rubbish - no charisma, no honesty and no action. Tooling is poor and you cannot use anything not considered standard.

Pros

Compensation Good people Training for investment banking basics

Cons

Where creativity and innovation go to die Endless bureaucracy and red-tape All kidding aside, this is your basic low-cost IT shop with a healthy dose of corporate oversight. Leadership and guidance come mostly from New York and London which leaves simple implementation to Cary. Beware of the all to often weekend releases.
