Pros

Money; They reward money makers! Love finding structures which are hard for others (including investors) to figure out.

Cons

Money is most important motivation at expense of ethics and even legality. Place could crumble any day. Tons and tons of risk. Very reliant on risky prop trading.

Pros

In the credit crunch it would be stability, security. Generally it is a friendly place to work and lacks the edginess of some of the American banks.

Cons

Bureaucracy is rampant, out-sourcing is common and badly implemented, IT infrastructure is poor and badly managed, budgets are unpredictable and often cut, staff are treated as a cost not an asset
