Pros

it's got a good brand name that's recognized on wall street. Lots of interaction with people in the London office since that's their largest operation site. lots of europeans all over the bank. intra sites are functional and communicative. lots of career development classes within the bank to enhance knowledge, but the classes are sometimes not very helpful. the location is very convenient on wall st by subway transit. For IT, there's the internal IT mobility program that's encouraged for you to move from one technology group to another. However you still must be careful. though it is encouraged by upper mgmt, some middle managers are still very petty about letting people leave their team.

Cons

the place is a mess everywhere you go within the bank. I made a lateral move within the bank between 2 IT groups and things in both groups was very disorganized. On a technical level, the bank does not have it's act together in certain IT groups. Also from talking to people in the bank, it seems like it's messy on the business side as well. HR at DB is pure evil. I was sexually harassed by one of my managers and HR, not only did not help me, but also made life absolutely miserable. At the end they denied all that's happened as if I made the entire thing up.

Pros

The Deutsche Bank brand is brilliant - it is widely respected to DB's clients and because of this, it is also highly respected in the job markets. The name on your CV, particularly if you can mention investment banking related experience, is worth a great deal. In my opinion, the best reason to work for DB is it's global brand name. Compared to other investment banks, its salary is competitive. Another great reason to work for Deutsche Bank in the London office is the work life balance. Unlike other investment banks, it understands that you have a life outside work! For example, the social networks such as the family network are very active.

Cons

Although Deutsche Bank boasts of a "one bank" culture, this is far from the truth. The 1 bank brand is strong and it is worth recognising that there are roughly 80,000 employees at the firm; many of those work in the retail arm. Although the retail business keeps things going in a downturn, it makes the firm far too large to manage. Senior management is far too Germanic in their approach and fill your day with unproductive administration. For example, technology and business audits are continually carried out but due to cost constraints, resourcing is so tight that there is no time to address these. Some areas of the bank thrive but others consistently fail.

Pros

Deutsche Bank has the potential to be a great place to work. They offer decent salaries. Well, I'm sure Senior Management isn't complaining, but it could be a little better on the "lower side of town." The benefits are also decent, but they do offer an excellent maternity/paternity leave. For the most part the enviroment is a good solid one. Most of the employees seem to work well together, but then again I can only speak for my floor/group. Leadership is good. Lines of communication are very open. The individuals in those positions seem competent enough. Overall, I would give working here a B-.

Cons

Stagnant for "lower" end employees. Promotional opportunities are in the middle of the road. My biggest qualm is that admins are expected to be admins like we have no brains, but yet you are required to have a Bachelors.
