Pros

Discover was a great company to work for. I was hunted down by people who wanted to promote me to their team rather than the latter, and it's like that for people who get good scores on their calls. Overtime is plenty for those who want it. Paid holidays are wonderful, and 20 PTO days right off the bat is a dream.

Cons

It's hard escaping the call center environment without a college degree. Be prepared to try to make team coach or team leader if you don't want to take calls anymore, because even other departments that have entry level positions to transfer to are most likely still call center positions. I would only recommend this job to people that can handle the stress and getting screamed at for things that aren't your fault. Most people are attracted to it for the money and benefits and I have to warn them to stay away because they're too soft.

Pros

Fun building exercises, time off the phone when your performance is great, rewards are great, food court, computer/game room, everyone is nice and friendly to work with and always helping when you have questions.

Cons

calls are constant in customer service and there is hardly a break in call flow, micromanagement, pay should be higher and more competitive, offering something on every call when the customer wants to get off the phone, horrible card members always yelling, complaining, cursing etc. at you on the phone.
