Pros

Benefits have historically been above average.

Cons

Once you've passed 10 to 12 years with Discover you may find yourself either overpaid in your managers opinion, under valued or both. From a lack managerial experience Management members fail to demonstrate common sense and fair judgement. They leverage subjective application of the company code of conduct policies, you're guilty and unable to prove innocence, and convey a sense that you somehow manged to benefit by cheating. I've seen this happen to others and could not correlate a true or implied benefit with the event. As I've seen in other reviews I would not bother seeking help from HR. For unknown reasons they appear to defend poor or weak statements given rather than collecting unbiased input from all parties.

Pros

Strong sense of genuine integrity in business practices. Employees are valued by the company. Executive leadership is trustworthy and "does the right thing". Innovative product portfolio. Significant opportunities for growth and mobility due to young, expanding business units and new products. Encouraged and protected work/life balance. Leading benefits package. Casual business environment and open door policy. Overall, a healthy professional culture.

Cons

Office far from city... Company struggles to acquire best, young talent who must balance work/commute. Some employees struggle with brand value as company's successes and competitiveness are not heavily marketed outside of the credit card space.
