Pros

Good work culture. Supportive and good managers

Cons

Sometimes it feels like nobody cares about you and they just want to chuck you to a client and never hear from you again. The clients are usually big corporations and the projects are not the most exciting

Thank you for sharing your experience. We are glad you have enjoyed a positive work culture and felt supported by managers. We're here to connect and create a vibrant community for all our talented employees. Have you explored the We Are Community platform (WeAreCommunity.io)? It's a great place to connect with colleagues who share your interests and passions. Additionally, you may feel more connected if you join a leadership team for one of our EPAM employee groups (EEGs). We recommend signing up for a group or two that look interesting to you and reaching out to the leaders of those groups to learn more. If you need any additional guidance, please email us at Glassdoor@epam.com

Pros

- Full home office opportunity (depends on the project though) - It is possible to change career tracks or tech stacks - There are options to relocate to another country

Cons

- Low salary - Hype-driven. Management tries to push you towards hot topics: big data, cloud, ai, whatever is the current hype. - Outsourcing setup. You have zero impact. You do what you are told to do. All the important decisions are made on the client's side. - Pointless, boring projects without any vision. - Staff augmentation. Sometimes you are the only epam employee in your team. - Lack of job safety. Projects are not stable. Ramp-downs happen every now and then. Bench time can be stressful. Sooner or later you have to accept a position at a bad project to get off the bench and avoid layoff. - Promotion process is slow, painful and is often tied to internal education programs at higher levels. You have to put in extra time besides you normal work duties. A lot depends on the feedback you get from your coworkers. Good relationship to your immediate colleagues matters more than your skills and performance. - No opportunity for improvement at experienced levels. The company is unable to get projects that are challenging enough.

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We are glad you appreciated the flexible work arrangements, the ability to switch career tracks and the relocation opportunities. We also hear your frustrations regarding your project assignments, the promotion process and compensation. We strive to provide our teams with challenging, high-impact projects, which often involves working with emerging technologies. However, we understand that project setups can vary and we regret that your experience felt restrictive and lacked the impact you were looking for. Our promotion process is designed to encourage continuous learning and peer collaboration, but we appreciate your candid feedback on how the requirements impacted your day-to-day schedule. We continually review our internal processes, as well as our salary, benefits and overall compensation packages, to ensure we remain competitive and supportive of our people. If you would like to discuss your experience further, please reach out to glassdoor@epam.com. We wish you the best in your career.
