Pros

-Flexible work schedule -Hybrid model

Cons

EY Cyprus’ Talent Team has earned a troubling reputation, both internally and externally, and it’s unfortunately well-deserved. The department’s unprofessional behavior goes unchecked, fostering a toxic culture of favoritism, exclusion, and mobbing. Employees who take initiative, express ideas for improvement, or receive positive feedback are often targeted with exclusion from work communications and unfair accusations of having an "attitude"—without prior warning and with no actual incidents for them to tell you of this alleged "attitude". Shockingly, after my unjust dismissal, even those who had praised my performance went silent, underscoring the fear and lack of accountability within this team. Disturbingly, a key figure admitted that the Talent Team’s behavior is tolerated because it’s a ‘non-revenue-generating department’—a staggering justification that reflects poorly on the company’s values. EY Cyprus needs to address this systemic issue before it further damages the workplace culture and the company’s reputation.

Pros

- free snacks and coffee - plenty of opportunities open for those who want to stay in risk advisory and accounting roles - thanks to trauma bonding, I’ve made friends for life through mutual disdain of our employer - many mid-level and senior management employees are supportive and will invest time into you - yearly salary is competitive*

Cons

- little to no mobilization into roles in tech, finance or management consulting as a staff - major mental health issues from workplace burnout and trauma is epidemic, especially as a staff and senior - your experience is largely team-dependent and there is no overarching consistency with how teams are led and your experience will vacillate from fairly pleasant to crying at 9 or 10 pm for a months-long stretch - common to stay on the computer until 8-10 pm accomplishing no real feats - very little incentive to claim ownership of the work done - for many, no real incentive to produce high-quality work when it’s typical for staff to work a busy season on a team only to be offloaded to the next busy season team in a long-running cycle - lots of time wasted on office politics and fake work - many mid-level and senior management employees are apathetic and will not invest time into you - yearly salary is competitive* on paper, but accounting for hours worked and duress sustained, is not fair compensation

Pros

You realise your true worth and that your self esteem is more important than any job. Your mental health is important and you need to value it.

Cons

The worst politics, it is not a company with leaders but politicians and liars. They don't let females talk and will do everything to bully them and harass them. There are no checks and balances and no actions against such workplace harassment. Even after raising a voice nobody cares. It has been my worst experience and I regret joining every moment. Luckily I have resigned now and hope to move on to a positive environment soon.
