Pros

There’s nothing good about this place.

Cons

Being employed at EY is tantamount to working in a sweatshop. Prepare yourself to be worked to death and have many sleepless nights. Management does not care about you and have no regards to you as a human being. The lack of compassion from upper management combined with the pettiness and competition amongst your peers just makes the whole experience feel like a race to the bottom. And if you're fresh out of college like I was when I started, the starting salary might seem great, but given the brutal hours you work, you're basically being paid $10/hour.

Pros

The people and working culture is great Very flexible working Offices are nice and good to work in

Cons

Pay outside of London is extremely poor with very minimal increases each year (if you're lucky). Expect virtually nothing for an actual promotion and any profit share is negligible in the grand scheme. Progression is also generally pretty poor as there just isn't enough budget to promote or progress people outside of London. It's really just luck if you want to make it past staff/assistant in any reasonable amount of time. The fastest you can do it is 3 years. Expect to have to then spend atleast 4 years at Senior before getting Manager. Anyone who is ambitious will become very demotivated in this working environment. There is very little you can do to help yourself and senior staff don't seem to show much interest in allowing individuals to develop. They would rather people leave or resign than pay a fair salary. Often don't feel particularly valued by senior staff, can feel like you're just a cog in a big machine. Don't expect to receive much credit for working long hours or taking on extra responsibility. Often you'll be given extra responsibility with no additional pay or recognition towards a progression or promotion.

Pros

Mostly good benefits and good exit opportunities.

Cons

You are thrown to the wolves right away. Good work is only rewarded with more work. I’d get my work done but it wasn’t good enough if I didn’t work until midnight. Just a toxic place to be.
