Pros

A good brand on the outside - this is because EY has a great brand making machine, but it doesn't live by its values. More flexible probably than other Big 4s about work arrangements but only really works if you do an internal rather than client-facing role

Cons

Shambolic organisation - almost impossible to get things done because their intranet is so poor and when no is accountable for taking action No real interest in their people or talent development - very poor counselling and feedback system Possibly only worth joining as a grad not as an experienced hire - I had no induction to the firm whatsoever Old fashioned, bureaucratic culture - not a consulting firm fit for the 21st century

Pros

- orientation /honeymoon period is good - willing to teach culture - can rest/more work life balance during non peak

Cons

- Many soft-spokwn managers keep on helping clients which pamper them, resulting in creating extra work/admin for ground staff to do. Clients wont appreciate our help after all these cases. - expectation on employees is unrealistic: staff is doing staff and intern/admin work; senior is covering staff ground work while helping manager clear admin work like interns - TOIL is abolished so as to discourage OT. However, staffing issue still remains = still OT - Old fashioned pantry. No green plants. Not enough chairs (pantry is used as work place) - Heavily relied on fresh interns and new recruits from Malaysia and Philippines. Not growing their local graduates.
