Pros

Excellent career opportunities, the chance to study industry recognised qualifications and the high calibre people that I work with

Cons

Salary - Managed Services pay in Newcastle is appalling, with many Associates needing second jobs to survive, and with Executlve level pay below the starting rates for other employers in the region. Staff morale for Associaes and Executives is very low due to the low salary (especially when considering the high charge out rates to clients), with many staff members actively seeking new employment elsewhere. All staff feel that the firm has no interest in retaining its trained people, who are regularly leaving for other firms who pay to the expected industry standard

Pros

Its a great place to jump start your career right from college. As its a big company, you get lots of opportunities to stay involved within the groups and learn new skills. Having great peers, NOTE - KEY WORD is great peers will be necessarily if you want to last in this career path.

Cons

Its like being in high school where you are constantly being picked on and talked down on. The politics is too much & most senior management employees think its okay to gossip, back-stab junior employees to cover up their failures & in some case, sabotage some to get them fired. There has been discriminatory things said about minorities which are leading people to believe is a reason for getting people recently sabotaged & fired. This was brought up to management and they covered it up and same with someone who was sabotaged, who brought up the issue with HR, and they did nothing thereby going along with management. In a matter of one week - 3 people have left a group and that will make it 4 people in a month and that is because of the management. The partner has constantly told group members that if you do not like the hours or how things are done - then you can leave and go find a job someplace else (that is not okay). For the amount of work your employees do for this company with little pay, we are being treated poorly, poor benefits, poor work/life balance, no bonuses, little or no raises and on top of it - we have to be picked on too. Working here has currently turned into a nightmare and if leadership does not step in, they will lose all their people (their good people).

Pros

Excellent work exposure right at the start. Lots of travel opportunities. From senior to lower management, all people are very approachable and helpful. You will almost always have some work. You will get to learn loads and loads and will always face some challenges somewhere. Strong clienteles. Excellent brand value which you will realise even more after you leave EY. Intelligent people around. Reasonably good pay masters. You will have less time available for fun activities but they do keep it. If you want to learn loads in a very short span of time then come to the Big 4s.

Cons

Too much work pressure, so sometimes people get frustrated and vent frustrations on others. Stress can be quite high. Reasonable amount of office politics. Competitive spirit is high. Pay rise not very impressive. Bonuses are just about fair. travelling can take toll on you after some time. Some projects require extensive travelling and staying away from home. Bosses can be harsh sometimes on you.
