Pros

-Great learning pathway, good for those who graduated from school and do not know what to do. -Great exposure to multitude of industries

Cons

-Technical learning ends when you reach Manager. Once you are Manager, you will learn more sales and administration like billing client, chasing client to pay up. -There is not one single moment where we were adequately hired -So understaffed that the Managers have to do fieldwork and is left no time to perform the work of a Manager. -Unless you are aiming to be a partner, staying too long will be detrimental to your hireability because the external hirers will think you lack industrial experience and you will be too expensive to be hired. -Depending on departments, some bosses are so toxic, they can go on a witch hunt if you leave a anonymous upward feedback that expresses your honest opinion -Management can be quite detached from the real situation on the ground. -Many have left because of health reasons.

Pros

Met some of the most driven and talented individuals whom are so helpful in guiding and coaching Very structured progression

Cons

Horrible Middle Tier Leadership (Amazing if u suck up to them else u are trash in their eyes) Due to how the hierarchy works, u essentially gets filled with a ton of "SENIOR Associates" who are actually trash but due to them staying in the org for long they become senior Middle layer management (Managers, Senior Managers, Directors, Associate Partners) have an ego whereby they are unwilling to accept constructive feedback if it comes with saying that they need to relook at the way the team is going.

Pros

- very friendly colleagues - talented colleagues to learn from - learn how to manage expectations and time - some engagement leads are really nice and care about you

Cons

EY has a toxic and cut throat culture where some partners are purposefully hiding information from others to keep the client and where there is bullying that goes unreported. I have seen directors explicitly bullying other directors and this has not been reported. For leadership you are just a resource and there to serve a purpose. After 3 years, partners knew nothing about me and believe me, I have made an effort. There is no upwards feedback so if you are stuck with a patronising or demeaning manager then it can be very frustrating. There is no clear route to raise issues when you are stuck in a terrible team. Pay is low, bonus is non existent and firm operates on long hours. Depending on your team and if you can push back, some people work weekends and holidays. Promotion is very biased and not very clearly set for those I that come in as experienced hire with industry experience. I have worked in multiple companies before EY and this is by far the most toxic experience I have had to date and the company with the highest turnover. 1-3 people leave the team a week.
