no pros I can think of

Cons

I have worked for the Analytics team within assurance (External Audit). You are literally treated like a slave, forget your life outside work - you think North Korea is bad - it is worse here. The leadership and management are very autocratic! If you do not do 70-80 hours a week the management will put you on disciplinary. The environment is very toxic. You are not allowed to question management or even provide ideas to improve processes. Everyone is only looking out for themselves. They use fancy titles like "Data Engineer" (associate) or "Data Scientist" (manager) but ask them if they can write some code in SQL they'd have no clue!! I found it quite a sham that a big company like EY use these ‘fake’ job titles! I have been in meetings when discussing a potential candidate for a junior analyst. The SQL test is a complete sham - no one actually checks them. It is literally an excuse to put someone on a lower salary, secondly there is no coding required to the job even when the job description advertised requires you to know python and SQL. Absolutely disgraceful! If you a graduate or apprentice looking for a job in EY – PLEASE avoid, you will not learn anything and you will be literally be treated like a slave – loading data onto a tool – like a robot. You will not learn anything. You are better off going to one of the other big 4 like Deloitte, KPMG or PwC!
