Good IT environment, poor work life balance

Pros

Very good compensation and benefits. A lot of very talented and committed IT staff, with an excellent CIO and willingness to invest in technology.

Cons

Very little work life balance with 50+ hour weeks almost expected as a minimum. Staff outside of the US are expected to work in their timezones and still join meetings held within EST working hours. The company culture has changed since the Cooper acquisition. It feels less respectful than before.

I had a great mentor/boss while working at Eaton. I learned a ton from her. The benefits are pretty industry standard, except for relocation. The relocation package if offered is phenomenal.

Cons

Really not a ton, just going through a rough economic time right now due to their market.

Pros

Educational Assistance was positive, All hands reviews were a good insight to company news. There seemed to be some promotion potential if you were willing to move to rural sites in Georgia.

Cons

There is very poor high level business leadership and communicated direction for the business. The director of Engineering executed on layoffs and outsourced design work to Eaton's Indian Engineering resource center. Very difficult to work with other business functions at the site.
