      Pros

      Eaton is a major international company that is diversified enough that even if one segment of their business fails there will still be a company there tomorrow. They pay their employees a decent wage although not extraordinary. There are great opportunities for the right individual to learn a number of different businesses and travel and work all over the world and learn about many different cultures.

      Cons

      When I started at Eaton, employees were considered a valuable resource and asset to the company. This changed even before the economy took a downturn. These days employees are just another cog in the wheel and not valued as much as they were in the past. Good ideas for moving into the future are passed over for "we'll keep doing things the same old way". Innovation is not permissable any longer.

      Pros

      A good portion of the folks will be retiring in the next 5 to 10 year. This may help facilitate advancement opportunities.

      Cons

      Promotions and raises are few and far between for people with less than 10 years of experience. Even if you get a high performing review you may not recieve any raise. Make sure to get any verbal promises in writing. Make sure you are comfortable making the initial amount you are hired at for the next 4 to 6 years.
