Pros
Development opportunities frequently available, due in part to the high turnover rate! Offers flexibility if you're only after part time hours.
Cons
Constant cutbacks to wages, staffing levels mean that the workload is spread more thinly across fewer and fewer workers. This leads to a vicious cycle where the shop gets worse (availability, cleanliness etc), so sales drop, so they cut back even more, and so on. Work life balance is non existent on nights. Regularly expected to pull 12-13hr shifts on a daily basis. Days managers come in and treat you like an errand boy when your shift was due to finish an hour ago. Standards only matter when there is a GSM or regional manager visit due. Management cares more about looking good in front of their mates than they do about providing the best shop possible for customers on a daily basis. Don't offer full time contracts so good luck trying to make ends meet if you're on your own. Constantly missing targets and forecasts, I feel my store is a sinking ship.
