Pros

Good colleagues to work with Double discount at Christmas Try to be flexible if you have other commitments

Cons

The upper management dump everything on the Section Leaders who then expect more from you especially if you are a hard worker. Work hard and do a good job and more work is expected of you. Whereas the lazy colleagues get away with it every time. Understaffing is a constant problem, as people leave, recruitment is non existent as the wages budget for each dept is squeezed more and more so there are fewer people to do the same amount of work which means corners are cut. Christmas is the worst time for stress. The music Asda plays over the radio is just dire and depressing especially as it's played from October. The whole management structure is very cliquey meaning those who are part of the inner circle get promoted first. Training is almost non existent especially those who are advanced to Section Leader. You could be in the job for months before you get sent for training. Stress is rife and nothing is done to alleviate it. I still have the second hand jacket I was given when I started 4 years ago, getting uniform is like getting blood from a stone.
