Pros

wage WAS ok but has since fallen 10% in real terms thanks to GMB union stink agreement

Cons

employers seem to have the union around their finger No bonuses Poor award- just 4% when inflation has been 20% for the last 23 months for lower income earners Annual leave applications are almost definitely rejected without reason every time. When you do not use annual leave they take it off you No sick pay- well, maybe 25 % if you are lucky but that is being reviewed downward If you are sick expect to be pressured to work on your days off in lieu Sick leave even with medical notes--- become a disciplinary matter Even if you perform very very highly-- if your face don't fit you will not get the "easy jobs". Instead you get a gruelling physical job with challenging targets LGBTQ leaflets are everywhere... in the cafe/ on the BIG TV and on posters and websites. Clearly ASDA believes a huge percentage of staff are under the "rainbow banner". This is just not the case- i hazard a guess it is about 1-2% of staff. Being condescending to that tiny portion of staff-- does not constitute "being fair" to the other 99%. The cafe is a shocker///... the drinks machines often do not work. The food is just so bad. It needs a shake up-- there have been 5 vegetables available inthe whole year there. 5 a year does not constitute 5 a day. The average meal is old oven chips reheated with a half can baked beans thrown over it. at £2.50 this is considered very discounted. Its ridiculous
