Pros
Great working opportunities. Able to learn many things in the challenging environment. Some managers/ senior managers are very helpful and open to new ideas and suggestions.
Cons
Very bad work life balance. If you do not work during weekends, you wont be able to fit into the team culture. For some MDs or Senior managers, you have to bootlick them to get your things done. Very self centered environment. Seniors will not help and you are not allowed to ask questions after your probation period. Those who work longer expect you to work like them so that you as a newcomer will not tarnish the team reputation. Political environment as well. Have to be really careful with the usage of words in your emails and conversations as they will use the words in the content to attack you. When upper management email during wee hours, you have to reply 5-10 minutes in order to make them feel that you are working hard and not sitting on their emails even though the KPI is 2 business days. Usually bosses do not know what their subordinates are doing as they only listen to seniors to provide feedback.
