Pros

Good benefits such as a free share, good holiday, Electric vehicle scheme, health plan, pension contributions, holiday purchase/sell scheme, and there are some lovely people working there. I think the UK CEO is a good guy with good intentions.

Cons

Morale is low. I have no faith in the senior leadership below the CEO. I don't think that his sentiments and good intentions are carried through the structure. There is a hierarchy, which slows down change and progress, and a lack of trust among the experts within the workforce who don't get listened to. As a line manager, there's no insentive to encourage your team to perform well, because you can't reward them for it because of forced distribution, and every year there are difficult conversations with people who you've had to put in a bottom pot, not because they've underperformed but because someone else has outperformed. The very top management have even said to everyone on Town Hall calls that there isn't forced distribution, and then described a forced distribution model. It holds everyone back. Also, one senior manager took away outperforming rewards and gave everyone "on target" last year, after people had already been told they achieved outperforming. They talk about "people first" but that's not really the lived experience. You're just a number, and don't ever think otherwise.

Pros

Good benefits, hybrid work arrangement is flexible (you can choose your 3 days in office)

Cons

Tenure and friendship is valued more than actual skillsets. Many people in Ops have no formal college education or true technical skills, and have been complacent in the dept for 10+ years. This leads to inefficient and stale processes that are reluctant to change. The culture is extremely passive aggressive and long-tenured employees are not welcoming to new hires from outside of the organization. People will go out of their way to sabotage opportunities for those offering new perspectives with greater value add. This causes forced interactions with low value collaboration. Many in analytical roles do not even understand basic Microsoft Office skills, Excel functions, V/XLOOKUPS, etc. and data is often reviewed manually per line item… This company is run like a low budget mom and pop shop where inefficient and backwards practices are toxically in circulation.
