Pros

> Amazonians are some of the smartest people I've worked with. > Generally, if you want to get better at something, there are excellent resources available somewhere (but it's on you to find/use them). > People actually use/talk about the Leadership Principles and it drives meaningful changes in approaching decisions, etc. > Large communities to join for pretty much any topic or niche. > Probably the easiest tech company to get into (because the turnover is so high).

Cons

> Really easy to burn out. I was always so stressed. Workload is high and expectations are very high, and you'll always feel like you're failing. I didn't realize all I'd accomplished until after I left. > I wasn't thinking about the promotion, but the process seems much more political (you have to get several people to endorse your promotion). > Didn't feel valued, didn't feel like I got to know my team.

Pros

Really smart people, a lot of opportunity for growth, always encouraged to be innovative, think big, and create something new. Competitive salary and benefits with other major tech companies. 100% self motivating work environment. No dress code and 4 legged friends are welcome.

Cons

You have to be self motivated. NO ONE will hold your hand and tell you that you're doing a great job. If you need constant affirmations from management, this company isn't for you.
