Excellent work culture but shift schedules can be a pain - CAP Associate Amazon Employee Review

Pros

Work culture is very good. No discrimination based on ranks or designations. Amazon has a culture where every employees are treated with respect irrespective of their designations. Superiors are not called “Sir/madam” but only by their name. You get a lot of corporate benefits.

Cons

The shift timings are something which might not be preferable to everyone. Working night shifts may not be your choice but you have to. (Medical exceptions might be accepted). For virtual roles, you feel the absence of colleagues and people around you. There’s not much socialising if you are working on a virtual role. You are at your home sitting in front of your desktop for most hours non-stop. Of course there are breaks but I personally find the breaks to be insufficient to recharge yourself. I personally find that the work/life balance is not that good while I am on this role.

Pros

Really smart people, a lot of opportunity for growth, always encouraged to be innovative, think big, and create something new. Competitive salary and benefits with other major tech companies. 100% self motivating work environment. No dress code and 4 legged friends are welcome.

Cons

You have to be self motivated. NO ONE will hold your hand and tell you that you're doing a great job. If you need constant affirmations from management, this company isn't for you.
