Pros

I started at AWS a few months ago and even though it hasn't even been 6 months, I can with all honesty say that I have never been this happy and excited about my future at a company. AWS truly invests in your on boarding training, making sure that you are happy and settling in is not just something that the team does because it is expected, but it is something they are more than willing to do because they truly care about you. You feel appreciated, valued and respected from day one. You learn so much and there is no end to opportunity and personal growth. You have flexibility and work-life balance for real!! This is not just a selling point, we live by this. I am amazed by how our leadership principles form deep routs as part of every day as an Amazonian, it inspires and drives on a daily basis!

Cons

Happy to say I don't have anything to comment here.

Pros

Ambitious projects if you're in the right team. Typically great team-mates. Don't believe the memes, the ppl are not back stabbing jerks but are overall genuinely nice. Not constrained by budgets when building cool things. Tools while sometimes clunky are powerful.

Cons

Schizophrenic lack of focus, entire teams get split, merged and upended multiple times a quarter. Some product managers are disconnected from reality. It didn't use to be the case, the PM-Ts were previously top notch. You're pushed to vibe code everything. Established products with loyal customers are getting neglected. Newer VP level leaders don't seem to know what they are doing. Veteran OG VP level leaders are either leaving in droves or seem stressed or checked out.
