Pros

Benefits are very good Hours are flexible (although the company approaches COVID with a tough policy stance, managers do not enforce on-site working)

Cons

- Extremely risk averse, without a good way to measure risk. You end up with a company petrified of doing anything even slightly different - Team members will not execute their tasks if they are not written in an SOP. Outside-the-box thinking is encouraged, but ideas are never enacted because they deviate from the SOP. - Managers have no clue how to manage. They are good at science and they attend plenty of "how to be a good leader" seminars, but they do not understand how to relate to or manage people. There is zero performance management (either up or out) - The company lives off of corporate buzz topics (i.e. lean, D/I) but does not know how to execute them. More time is spent in lean meetings to solve a 5 minute problem than will ever be recouped by the gains of solving that 5 minute problem

Pros

I imagine this is very dependent on line management but I find my team and supervisors to be true champions of a high performing and highly compassionate work culture. I find my work challenging and rewarding, and have had opportunities to learn and grow and be rewarded and recognized for my output. No job is perfect but I’m truly happy to work here and at a time when AZ is truly rising like a rocket.

Cons

Like any massive global corporate entity, things can sometimes move slowly and it can be challenging to navigate a high number of constantly evolving priorities and initiatives. That being said, AZ is very clear about its north stars and values which makes it possible to prioritize work that has the most impact and alignment with the company’s ambition and business prerogatives. 60% office attendance policy is also a bit funny when oftentimes I am on Teams calls with colleagues sitting in other areas of the world.
