Pros

Excellent culture, challenging work, best of breed technology focus. I felt compelled to write a review this morning. My ten year anniversary is coming soon and I don't have any regrets for leaving a stable fortune 500 company job to come work for SWC. The things that drive me to succeed are smart people, interesting problems to solve, and work variety. SWC provided all those things I was looking for and compensates me fairly for doing so. Some people gripe about the time tracking and the personal time needed for skills development. This is a technology company that has one product, time. Because time is finite and perishes every hour, it has to be tracked and accounted for in a reasonable fashion. Learning and education never stop in our industry. If you follow the news you know that technology is changing at a breakneck pace. This means everyone is responsible for managing their skills to ensure we provide our customers with expert guidance and best of breed solutions. The SWC work life balance has its ebbs and flows but I always feel that I'm the one with my foot on the gas or brake and not my boss or the company. If you are a motivated individual and you are driven to succeed and improve (sometimes from mistakes that SWC helps you work through) you will have an excellent career here at SWC!

Cons

The company color is still orange. I happily await the day they switch to green or purple! As SWC gets bigger, its become harder to know every face, name and what everyone is doing.

Pros

There actually are great people, but you play manager roulette.

Cons

BDO is notorious for promoting people who just never leave. The middle of the road, not great, not awful, people get promoted over and over again. There have been changes every 3 seconds since the ESOP. Terrible communication around change (non-existent). My manager's favorite term was "We are building the plane as we fly it". After 4 years, I was hoping to have more plane built. It was never built.
