      Pros

      The people are amazing from the admin staff to the partners. This is by far the best reason to work here. Tons of teams where everyone participates. All the benefits of a big 4 firm (Training, Benefits, Tuition Reimbursement etc.), without being worked to death. Don't get me wrong the hours during busy season aren't good, but way better than Big 4.

      Cons

      The biggest con is the busy season hours obviously, but if you want to get into public accounting than you already know what you're signing up for.

      There actually are great people, but you play manager roulette.

      Cons

      BDO is notorious for promoting people who just never leave. The middle of the road, not great, not awful, people get promoted over and over again. There have been changes every 3 seconds since the ESOP. Terrible communication around change (non-existent). My manager's favorite term was "We are building the plane as we fly it". After 4 years, I was hoping to have more plane built. It was never built.
