Pros
1. Decent clientele which will look good on CV 2. Great learning curve in some teams (not all teams) 3. Relaxed atmosphere in most teams. However I have heard exact opposite for some teams, so please enquire about the team you join.
Cons
The cons are mainly with regards to salaries and bonuses which are the main thing that matter. It starts with HR lying to you. You will be told how the firm is growing extremely fast, how you will be appraised, how the firm bonuses are over 20/25% normally blah blah blah. 1. You join after Sept 30, you won't get appraised for Mar 31 even if HR promises you. So negotiate accordingly as your appraisal will be after one and a half years. 2. Your salary will be paid anytime between 5/7th of the next month. So if your EMI falls due before that, be prepared! 3. The salary gets deducted even if a single day of your timesheet is *unapproved*. So if your manager missed it or was busy before the deadline, be prepared for a salary cut. 4. The bonuses are in the range of 10-18% regardless of how exceptionally well you or your team does since the firm is going through rough times. 5. Company is even struggling to pay the out of pocket expenses you incurred! The OPEs will be received by you after 4/5 months of submission. 6. The appraisal cycle is Apr to Mar which begins by May and the backpay and bonuses are credited to your account anytime between October to December depending on your designation. 7. The Company has so many people that it is difficult to sit. Last I heard they were still contemplating buying office to accommodate its staff. Till then, everyone continues to sit as if they are in a local train. Most critical part: They have denied bonuses and salary hikes for FY 19/20 citing Corona. Denied. Not Delayed. But they will still *appraise* staff. So you will get promoted but you won't get any salary hike.
