Pros
Benefits are decent, fully remote right now, you can transfer to another office regardless of your job title.
Cons
I knew the company leaned left when I started, but it was tolerable. Then 2020 hit. White guilt seminars, "White Fragility" suggested reading, and I will never again know if I earned an accomplishment or if I got it for the "affirmative action" checkboxes I fill in. If you want to be judged (and hried/promoted,) based on the color of your skin rather than the content of your character, this is the place for you. CEO regularly goes off to make statements half-cocked and with about 5% of the relevant information, never waits for ragebait stories to develop. I do not care what he says or thinks privately, but when he opines in his official capacity as CEO, he's saying, "If you think otherwise, you're -ist, -phobic," or whatever. Covid policy was modified so that political activism the company doesn't like is grounds for termination. It was put in the Covid policy even though this was clearly done in response to what happened in the capital on January 6th. The window of acceptable conversation and thinking has narrowed to a pinhole. The office is a gun-free zone, so at higher risk for a mass shooting. (Look up the data if you think I'm lying.) Salary is SIGNIFICANTLY below average, at least for IT. I will literally get a $10k-20k raise by virtue of taking a job ANYWHERE else. IT was underappreciated until 2020, but now we've been upgraded from unappreciated to "necessary evil."
