Pros
Great people, smart and capable. Barclays had top notch systems including market data repositories, risk engines etc obviously designed by excellent professionals. Capable trading desks too.
Cons
Since 2012 the firm went downhill rapidly fast. No training. Very long hours with brutal deadlines. Poor pay, ranked top in reviews yet zero bonus. Bad vibes in the firm, culture was terrible. Miserable offices, 10 South Colonnade dirty carpets, 3 toilets for 500 people in the floor only cleaned once a day. 5 North Colonnade pretty much the same. Mediocre benefits. Sparse internal mobility opportunities, only for the very well connected.
