Pros
Barclays Capital is still being considered a good name in the street, so it is good to have it on your CV when going to interview somewhere else. And base salaries are still good.
Cons
Since Barclays' CEO announced major redundancy plans, including 30% in investment banking until 2016, people stopped working. It is difficult to find a person keen to develop business. The majority spends more time discussing who else is hiring, who is a good headhunter, who will be fired next etc. You feel very low morale.
