Pros
By far, the best part of the job were the donors. It was enjoyable to meet so many different kinds of people and have so many different conversations with them. You even start to grow attached to some of them and build friendships. Hardest part of leaving was leaving the donors. Benefits were also incredibly good.
Cons
Management was extremely toxic. They would correct you in front of donors about insignificant things, and constantly tell you what you were doing wrong and there was never any recognition for what you were doing right. You’d work your hardest for no appreciation. Management would also speak to lower employees with an unnecessary attitude for no reason, and would regularly insult and speak poorly about employees to each other in their office. Supervisors would hide out in their office when things would get busy and hectic, and then leave in the middle of it being out of hand. This company offers no work/life balance. They’ll schedule you until 9:45 one night and expect you to open at 5:30 the next morning. You’re expected to use your break time to go to the bathroom, and it’s a struggle use the restroom if you’re not on your break. Favoritism is a huge issue, and promotions will go to favored employees over the ones who deserve it more. All in all, it’s an extremely toxic place to work.
