Pros
The pay was good for the position. It was less than a 3-mile commute from home. The office space was nice. Extremely smart engineers. Great products.
Cons
Extremely political. Lacking in teamwork in the group I was in. My first day on the job and later several times that week, my manager commented on how great the other candidate was who was clearly that manager's top choice. I believe I was hired because the senior execs who interviewed me had chosen me and it was the politically correct move, but that my manager was threatened by my experience. I was given very menial work, asked to check in at every stage of the simplest tasks, was told I was not meeting deadlines before deadlines had passed. I was directed to incorrect resources and when redirected properly by those resources, told I needed to go back to the original contacts who had clearly stated they were not the right people to participate in the activity. When I took the initiative to track down a former employee to explain needed history on a project they had started and was passed to me to complete in weeks (after many months of the project laying dead with zero progress or attention), I was chastised.
