Pros

From the interview process onwards, I get to work with some of the smartest, most engaged, most passionate people that I've ever had the privilege to work with. In any other company, this would sound like marketing fodder, but working at Canva really is that good. The engineering quality is extremely high and results driven. Everyone is encourage to set ambitious goals and strive for them, but no one is watching over your shoulder. Everyone is expected to be self-motivated and on top of their own work. This means that you can work mostly however you want as long as you are achieving results. The whole company has high goals and aspirations. The office is beautiful with daily gourmet lunches, a wonderfully spoilt office dog and great atmosphere. The culture is ridiculously friendly and inclusive and the management never fails to be approachable even as the company grows.

Cons

The company is growing fast and everyone is amazing so there are a lot of new names to learn!

Pros

The work culture is amazing and highly collaborative. There are plenty of opportunities to learn new technologies, and the perks/benefits are excellent. The work culture is amazing and highly collaborative. Cons

The company is growing very fast, so internal processes and structure change frequently. Work-life balance can be tricky during big product launches.

Pros

Product is beloved by users. Brand affinity is second to none which makes being a marketer a lot of fun. Genuinely good and caring coworkers who want to build something great. Hiring bar is high. Vibe and Thrive benefit is clever and unique.

Cons

Behind the brand is a cult like culture with the “founders” surrounded by yes people (whether they are aware of it or not). Mediocrity seems to be tolerated among management’s “old guard” causing tension and churn with newer and sometimes more experienced leaders. Insecure leaders at some of the highest levels perpetuate much of the toxic behaviors described in the reviews below such as gaslighting and favoritism. People “disappear” with little to no explanation, but hey, it’s the “Canva way”.
