Pros

Decent pay, good benefits, good if you like to have a cushy job and not feel challenged day-to-day

Cons

Beyond the toxic positivity mentioned by other reviewers (it is extremely disconcerting how no-one in the company is willing to acknowledge genuine issues or misgivings), there is next to no career growth. The hiring process is incredibly competitive, so they acquire the cream of the crop, only to put them in roles where there are few challenges or growth opportunities, leaving employees burnt out from performing mindless tasks they are overqualified for. If you aren't interested in developing or supporting your employees, why bother hiring people who are specifically driven and high-performing? You're better off finding mediocre designers who don't mind the brain-numbing BAU work. If you have any sort of creativity, I would strongly recommend you avoid Canva for the sake of your sanity.

Pros

Product is beloved by users. Brand affinity is second to none which makes being a marketer a lot of fun. Genuinely good and caring coworkers who want to build something great. Hiring bar is high. Vibe and Thrive benefit is clever and unique.

Cons

Behind the brand is a cult like culture with the “founders” surrounded by yes people (whether they are aware of it or not). Mediocrity seems to be tolerated among management’s “old guard” causing tension and churn with newer and sometimes more experienced leaders. Insecure leaders at some of the highest levels perpetuate much of the toxic behaviors described in the reviews below such as gaslighting and favoritism. People “disappear” with little to no explanation, but hey, it’s the “Canva way”.
