Pros

If you're lucky you'll get put into good projects

Cons

Hi I am part of the VLSI domain in Capgemini engineering. The people at capgemini do not increase salary for freshers. When I joined the put me as a trainee for 6 months and I used to get around 18k per month for 6 months even though I was directly deployed in a project. And then after I got converted to a full time employee and they promised a salary of 4.5L per year. Now even after 18 months of joining they haven't increased my salary. And the work pressure is also high. what they told me was that i am eligible for salary hike only after 2 years from date of joining. 6 months (trainee) + 18 month (date of joining) = 2 years to get at least a bare minimum salary hike. They also have a bond which they make you sign for 3 years and the bond amount is 6.75 Lakhs so you can be treated like a corporate slave.

Pros

- Standard benefits - Depending on the team you're on, can be a relatively easygoing environment - Ample vacation time, generally readily approved

Cons

- Far, FAR below market wage - No yearly raises or even discussion. With inflation, I'm making less now than I did previously. - Zero room for advancement (see below) - You can be a superstar for the client but that translates into no actual benefits pay or promotion wise at Capgemini - they're entirely unrelated. - My manager basically forgot I exist for over a year which means no discussion about performance, promotion, raises, etc - Opaque processes around pay, promotion, etc - Come here if you want your career and paycheck to stagnate and die - Zero appreciation or acknowledgement from the Capgemini team with the client - there's no carrot and stick, just the stick. No real reason to go above and beyond.
